There are so many elements to having blended family that can be tough, but there
are also some perks...
1. The number one benefit is more people to love the kids!
The kids now have extra grandparents, extra aunts and uncles, extra family to love and care about them. The family loves and cares about the kids so much and I know they were meant to be a part of our lives.
2. You get perspective.
When you've been doing the parenting thing for 11+ years, you can get a little stuck in your ways. Ryan came in halfway through, and really helped shape my parenting. Someone with different life experiences that turn them into who they are and that benefits the kids.
3. You learn to suck it up.
To be honest, co-parenting can be a nightmare. But it can also teach you some valuable shit like growing the fuck up. There's a lot of swallowing your pride, learning to let the small stuff go, and upholding respect for your kids' father and family.
When it comes down to it, the kids are the most important and anything that makes their lives easier and more filled with love is the best path.
