Hair Inspo

I have long looooong hair. This requires a certain level of creativity when it comes to manageable hairstyles...

Christmas Pictures

I just have to say, my crew is so cute.
We took Christmas pictures this past weekend, and they turned out adorable!

Romy was trying to eat his vest, Lincoln was trying to nurse, and Ry had his hand next to Zach's head to keep him from looking around.
Sounds about right  #momlife

Bump Fashion

 35 weeks!
Or somewhere around there...
;)
Dress: Old Navy Maternity
Vest: LC Lauren Conrad
Sandals: Target
Necklaces: Forever 21

Feeling AMAZING today and yesterday. No heartburn, no contractions, plenty of sleep!
Not sure if baby dropped or if it's just a fluke, but I am loving this. I was even able to eat nearly a full meal yesterday. MIRACLE, I tell you!

This is the same dress from my date night post several weeks ago. It is so unbelievably comfortable! Soft, stretchy, and flattering too.
I added layered necklaces, the vest, and sandals to make the whole look casual.

MAKE UP

I was feeling the fall colors today!
Lorac Pro Palette 1 on the eyes
NYX Soft Cream Matte Lip in Tokyo on the lips.
Anastasia Beverly Hills aka EYEBROW QUEEN on the brows

ACCESSORIES

Chains and my fave midi rings from Forever 21
Sandals are ancient from Target

Bump Fashion

I'm loving this pregnancy so far!
It's baby number six for me and by far the easiest.
Of course, one would expect my body would know what to do by this point.

Working out regularly and eating healthy are a huge factor in how good you feel during pregnancy (check out my pregnancy health post coming this week!)

Here is what I wore today. I must say, it's one of my favorite outfits.
It's comfortable, affordable, functional, and so so cute.

Hat and maternity dress are from Old Navy
Denim vest is from LC Lauren Conrad
Sandals and necklace are Target

Outfit of the Day

Went for a comfortable and casual look today - simple, soft, and chic makes for a happy mama.
Threw my hair in a top knot, added some stripes and sparkles - Voila!

Shirt is from Poppy and Dot. Very soft, stretchy comfortable. It's not a maternity shirt, just a regular tunic type of item, and as you can see I tied it under the belly.

Jeans are Mama Jeans from H&M. They have some of the softest and more comfortable maternity pants I've ever worn. Not to mention, they are usually $40 or under!

Also wearing sparkly pink Toms I've had forever to spice it up!

Make up today :) My favorites - Benefit Push Up Liner and MAC Sweet Experience lipstick.

Be back soon!

Make Up of the Day/Hair of the Day

From Yesterday!

Smashbox "Sable" in the crease (seriously does every brand have an eye shadow named Sable?)
MAC "Pink Freeze" on the lid
Smashbox "Headshot" on brow bone
MAC Playland "Sweet Experience" on the lips

I was going for a springy make up look again. I've been addicted to the Lorac Pro Palette all fall and winter, so I figured it was time to switch it up.

My latest obsession is the Smashbox Master Class Palette 2. Has a lot of really beautiful shades, perfect for Spring and Summer.

Sweet Experience has been my go to lip color since I got it. I LOVE this color! So perfectly pink! I can't get enough.

Hair Secrets

Hair Secret #1

Dry Shampoo.
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo is a life saver. Not only does it allow me to wash my hair much less, it gives great volume and texture for backcombing. Since discovering this about 2 years ago, I wash my hair once or twice a week, which, in turn, has made my hair healthier!

Now instead of taking an hour to blow dry and style my hair, it takes me 5-10 minutes AND looks much better.

To use: Section hair off and spray as you go until all roots have been sprayed. Pull hair up or out of your face with a headband and let sit to soak up any oils (I usually work on make up during this time). After about five minutes, move hands through hair as if washing your hair in the shower, rubbing in all white residue from the product.

After this has been complete, you can finish up and go - but I add backcombing to give extra oomph.

(Backcombing tutorial coming soon)

Hair of the Day

It was really humid and rainy today so I went with a rain proof top knot!

Hair of the Day

I loved this look. Just a French braid from one ear to the other, a poofed crown and a low bun.
I literally did my hair the exact same way for three days haha. Easy, functional, out of the face!

Easy Peasy Little Girl Hair

Another SECURE hair-do for your busy munchkin.

Style hair into a half ponytail.
Then twist each side of the half pony before you tie them together.
After you tie them, do a topsy turvy and put the tied hair back through itself.

Et voilà!

10.04.2012

Easy Peasy Little Girl Hair

I have a very active almost-two-year-old girl and trying to tame her hair can be quite the task. Regular pony tails can fall out easily from rough playing, pigtails get tugged on, and forget a braid with the length her hair is now.

So this is my go-to hair-do for Miss Maddie girl. I call it Two Pigs and a Pony.

The hairstyle is pretty obviously simple.

Two pig tails up front then all hair pulled into a pony.

This is a very secure hairstyle for playtime and school. So if you have a rambunctious little girl, try it out, and let go of your hair woes.
