Snacks for Pregnant and Nursing Moms

Staying healthy and energized during pregnancy is tough!
You have a little baby peanut siphoning all your nutrients and will power, all day every day.

I ran into big problems with keeping my blood sugar up, and would often get fainty, dizzy, and nauseous. I ended up eating small meals and snacks several times a day. Better for energy and better for digestion!

Here are a few examples of my go-to snacks for pregnancy. High in protein, healthy, and delicious!

1. Apples and Almond Butter: Easy and portable!

 2. Smoothies: So many different combinations and easy to maximize protein and other nutrients. Add lots of kale, spinach, swiss chard! I personally love adding a scoop or two of vanilla protein powder and a couple scoops of flax seed.

 3. Yogurt with granola and fruit: Almost tastes like a desert but so healthy!

 4. Veggies and hummus: Another quick and portable snack!

5. Ezekiel bread with avocado and hardboiled eggs. PROTEIN!

 6. Oatmeal with fruit: I also add a scoop of protein powder, maybe a few walnuts.

What to Bring to the Hospital

What does this mama of (almost) 6 put in the hospital bag?

Check it out, you don't need much! You will be surprised at how much the hospital provides and how much you really don't need in your stay there.

 35 weeks!
Or somewhere around there...
;)
Dress: Old Navy Maternity
Vest: LC Lauren Conrad
Sandals: Target
Necklaces: Forever 21

Feeling AMAZING today and yesterday. No heartburn, no contractions, plenty of sleep!
Not sure if baby dropped or if it's just a fluke, but I am loving this. I was even able to eat nearly a full meal yesterday. MIRACLE, I tell you!

This is the same dress from my date night post several weeks ago. It is so unbelievably comfortable! Soft, stretchy, and flattering too.
I added layered necklaces, the vest, and sandals to make the whole look casual.

MAKE UP

NYX Soft Cream Matte Lip in Tokyo on the lips.
Anastasia Beverly Hills aka EYEBROW QUEEN on the brows

Feeling: Pretty dang good! Easiest pregnancy by a long shot.

Bump Fashion

I'm loving this pregnancy so far!
It's baby number six for me and by far the easiest.
Of course, one would expect my body would know what to do by this point.

Working out regularly and eating healthy are a huge factor in how good you feel during pregnancy (check out my pregnancy health post coming this week!)

Here is what I wore today. I must say, it's one of my favorite outfits.
It's comfortable, affordable, functional, and so so cute.

Hat and maternity dress are from Old Navy
Denim vest is from LC Lauren Conrad
Sandals and necklace are Target

Outfit of the Day

Went for a comfortable and casual look today - simple, soft, and chic makes for a happy mama.
Threw my hair in a top knot, added some stripes and sparkles - Voila!

Shirt is from Poppy and Dot. Very soft, stretchy comfortable. It's not a maternity shirt, just a regular tunic type of item, and as you can see I tied it under the belly.

Jeans are Mama Jeans from H&M. They have some of the softest and more comfortable maternity pants I've ever worn. Not to mention, they are usually $40 or under!

Also wearing sparkly pink Toms I've had forever to spice it up!

Make up today :) My favorites - Benefit Push Up Liner and MAC Sweet Experience lipstick.

Be back soon!

Necklace: Target
Bracelet: Forever 21

Pregnancy Fashion

We've all been there. Feeling like a huge, lumpy mess. Ready to throw out your entire wardrobe because nothing fits right anymore, ready to down a whole carton of ice cream in tears.
Ah, the joys of pregnancy.

Baby Movement

So Ryan finally got to feel the little nugget move today! I've been feeling him for awhile but the little stinker would stop immediately when Ry put his hand on my belly.

So I devised a plan to get him to kick for Ryan. I rest the laptop on my belly when I'm messing around on the internet. The computer gets warm and he loves it! So he was moving around, punching and rolling like a crazy jumping bean, I call Ryan over, move the computer and BAM. There's a few kicks for the Daddy :)

Love it!

Prego Sanity Savers

We all have those days...

Days where we want to rip out our hair and hide in a closet. Possibly cry. And being pregnant is a catalyst for these kind of moments...

With the four kiddos and a little bun in the oven, I admit that my patience and stamina wears thin when doing my daily Mommy tasks.

My saviors on the rough days:

As soon as Ryan gets home, I retreat to take a warm bubble bath. It soothes my aches and pains from the ever-growing belly.

Then I crawl into my coziest jammies, pop in some earbuds, curl up with a warm blanket, and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Don't underestimate a Mommy's need for a little alone time! If you need it, take it. You'll feel a million times better afterwards.

Thank God for awesome hubbies like Ry.

Bump Wardrobe

So on days like today where it's going to be warm - about 77 degrees - I like to wear something flowy that doesn't make me want to change five billion times.

Here's my outfit today! Again, I'll post a pic of me wearing it once Ryan gets home on Saturday night. Comfortable

Okay... I don't really have the bag... Isn't it cute though?!

Bump Wardrobe

When you're in that awkward "People can't tell if I'm pregnant or just had a really big lunch..." phase, getting dressed SUCKS.

I don't know about you guys, but I end up trying on everything in my closet twice, making a huge mess out of my room, and resolving to live in my pajamas for the rest of the pregnancy.

So I shall post outfits that I find functional, cute, and most importantly of all - comfortable. Just in case any other rapidly expanding women want some help.

Here's what I wore today:

Denim ShirtI'll add a pic of me wearing it once Ryan gets home.

Light denim shirt is from Maurices (I didn't tie it like the pic though), tank is Mossimo from Target, the bodycon skirt is from Forever 21, and the black Toms are from Toms.com.

The looser denim shirt helps hide the bump-ish like growth happening around your abdomen and the bodycon skirt is stretchy and comfortable.

Loves, ladies!

Most Comfortable Outfit EVER

I'm not sure how many people are like me and just want to be comfortable all the time, but I'm the type of person who changes out of my clothes right when I get home into something lounge-worthy. Well, my friends, I have finally discovered the epitome of the comfortable outfit.

Yes, I know that you all were waiting with bated breath.

So whether you're prego, just like to be comfy, or both... here it is.

The top is a tank from aerie by American Eagle Super Comfy Tank Top
And the bottoms are from Forever 21. Most Comfortable Pants on the Planet

I have the pants in heather grey, which while feeling all the clothes at the store, seemed to be the softest.

Now, go forth and be comfortable.
